LEAD SAS CONSULTANT

Description: Lead SAS Consultant - SAS, DI Studio, ETL, Oracle, Base, Macro My Client is a large established Commercial company and the BI team develops, and maintains the data warehouse for various product areas. This is currently going through a number of transitions including moving the current warehouse data storage from SAS to Oracle, changing the current hardware, and upgrading from SAS 9.13 to SAS 9.2. This year we are also planning some large redesign pieces around the current warehouse, and working towards establishing a BI Competency Centre. Due to the amount of products under current remit they are looking for Lead SAS Consultant - SAS, DI Studio, ETL, Oracle a new position within the team has been created. Role: The role is one of Lead SAS Consultant - SAS, DI Studio, Base, Macro, ETL, Oracle within the BI Team, you will work closely with the BI Manager and Lead Designer in understanding business requirements for project and support initiatives, and offer technical expertise. You will have the ability to translate these initiatives to the development team and where appropriate undertake design work, and some development work. A large proportionof the Lead SAS Consultant - SAS, DI Studio, ETL, Oracle, Base, Macro role will be to establish a best practice set of standards and procedures both technical and non-technical, to maintain these, and to establish others where required. A key area which you will be expected to own is the release process, making sure releases carried out within the team conform to the established best practices. The Lead SAS Consultant - SAS, DI Studio, ETL, Oracle, Base, Macro will be able to work throughout all stages of the project life cycle, be able to facilitate good working relationships between business and other areas of IT, and makedecisions in the absence of the BI Manager.
